TV demand cuts availability of LCD materials.

Booming sales of large-size panels for large-size TVs are exacerbating supply constraints for materials and components used in the manufacturing of LCDs, including glass substrates, color filters (CFs) and cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs). TV requires the largest panels of all major LCD applications.

CMV and BenQ to raise 17" LCD monitors prices.
BenQ has increased prices for its 17" LCD monitors $4 since last month while CMV will plans to raise its prices for the segment $4-5 by the end of this month, according to both companies, as cited in the Taiwan-edition of the Chinese-language Apple Daily News
