Primora adds to the software testing talent pool

Primora, a Hyderabad based finishing school for software testing, today announced the successful completion of the first batch of students for Post Graduate Program in Software Testing (PPST). Primora aims to change the way industry hires entry level testers. The PPST is a 3 month full-time training program where students learn the art of software testing and practice their learning on relevant projects. Students are also required to pass the ISTQB certification for entry level testers. Mr. Madhu Murty, CEO Primora said "Research shows that only the top 15% of engineers are employable. With focused remediation, Primora believes 40% of the engineers will be employable." Mr. Murty, former head of the Testing Practice at Accenture and former Senior Vice-president at AppLabs further added, "The three co-founders Sriram, Asokan and I moved on and started Primora as we believe that people with the right industry experience should groom the next generation. Having seen what the industry needs we decided to do something about it." Sriram Rajaram, COO, Primora added "The IT industry expects to hire more than 30,000 testers this year. Companies are hiring graduates and spending Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to train each fresher for 2-4 months. " "Finishing schools like Primora help companies save time and money. Students who complete the PPST program can be deployed on projects quickly. More than 30 students from the inaugural batch have been hired by the IT industry. With more than 7,500 square feet of training facilities, we have a capacity of training more than 720 testers per year. We will be doubling our capacity within the next one year" said Sriram.
