Logitech Unveils G500 to Replace G5 Mouse.

This mouse still has its tail. For Logitech faithful, the G5 was one of the best gaming mice in the company"s lineup. Today Logitech launched the successor to the G5, the G500, with an upgraded laser sensor. Logitech says that the G500 can sense a maximum hand speed of 165 inches per second (ips) and a maximum acceleration force of 30 g"s. Users can also adjust dpi on-the-fly from 200 dpi to 5700 dpi. Like the old G5, it"s corded, but the new one has an updated shape with a broader thumb rest and a smoothed-out pinkie ledge. Those who are sensitive to weight can add up to 27 grams of extra weight for personalized feel and control. The Logitech Gaming Mouse G500 is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe in September for a suggested retail price of $69.99 (U.S.).
