LSI to introduce enterprise SATA-II controller.

LSI Logic next week plans to unveil what it said is the industry"s first enterprise-class SATA-II RAID controller. The Milpitas, Calif.-based company will introduce the MegaRAID SATA 300 8x controller at LinuxWorld in Boston, said Joe Leader, senior director of worldwide channel marketing and business development at LSI. CRT televisions and monitors are in the final stages of extinction, according to market research firm iSuppli. In a recent study, iSuppli found that CRT monitor revenues will shrink by a compounded 22% after 2007. Most of this decline is fueled by lower demand and the closing of several CRT factories.
