IMAX To Use DLP Digital Projectors.

Texas Instruments DLP Cinema announced today at ShoWest that IMAX will incorporate the DLP Cinema projector solution. Under the terms of the agreement, each IMAX Digital projection system to be deployed to commercial exhibitors around the world, scheduled to begin mid-2008, will be powered by DLP Cinema projectors.

With prices of 50" PDP (plasma display panel) TVs continuing to dip, demand is expected to rise significantly in the fourth quarter of this year, according to channel distributors. According to Displaybank, prices for 50" PDP TV are expected to decrease to below $2490 by the end of the year.
